CAS Student Central Scholars Program: Helping Students Build Connections, Confidence, and Career Readiness
The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) is proud to conclude the 2025-2026 CAS Student Central Scholars Program, a professional development initiative designed to identify, engage, and support outstanding students and career changers interested in the property and casualty (P&C) actuarial profession.
Through interactive learning sessions, peer connections, networking opportunities, and one-to-one mentorship with practicing actuaries, the Scholars Program helps participants deepen their understanding of the P&C actuarial career path while building practical skills for long-term success.
Throughout the academic year, scholars participated in regular events highlighting the breadth of the P&C actuarial profession. Sessions included career panels with early-career actuaries, industry leaders, and CAS volunteers; discussions on P&C industry hot topics; and workshops focused on interview etiquette and prep as well as personal branding.
Mentorship as a Foundation for Student Success
As a benefit of the program, scholars were also invited to participate in a one-on-one mentorship experience with a practicing actuary who provided personalized guidance on exam preparation, career development, interviews, and navigating the early stages of the actuarial journey.

Supporting the Next Generation of Actuaries
The Scholars Program is intended to foster long-term engagement between students and the CAS, while helping strengthen the actuarial pipeline with motivated candidates. By combining technical skills, professional development, and mentorship, the program gives participants a strong foundation to explore and pursue P&C actuarial careers. The continued success of the program is made possible by the CAS members who share their time and expertise with students by volunteering as mentors or speakers.
