Shape the Future of the CAS Online Experience

Before you decided to become an actuary, did you do some online research to find out more about the profession? Was one of your resources casact.org? And did you sometimes struggle to find what you were looking for within the CAS website?

For many actuaries, the answers to all of the above is yes. The CAS is full of wonderful staff and members who are ready and willing to help an up-and-coming actuary at a moment's notice. But the fact is that our first, and most frequent, interaction with CAS often happens via its website. And sometimes, the website doesn't give us the optimal experience.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not here to knock casact.org. It has almost everything you need to become and succeed as an actuary: exam information, continuing ed resources, a member directory, research databases, details on upcoming events - you name it, it's there! But sometimes you can't figure out how to access the CAS store, or you can't track down your upcoming exam date, or you open the site on your iPhone and it just doesn't look right.

That's why we're coming to YOU to find out what you like and dislike about the CAS online experience. The Online Services Committee (also known as COOS), a CAS volunteer committee, is undertaking a redesign of the CAS website and wants to hear from you, our future fellows. There's a good chance you grew up with the internet, regularly post/like/snap/share, and have a unique and valuable take on what you want out of the CAS, from an online perspective.

So take this opportunity to make your voice heard and make a difference for the future of the CAS. We look forward to hearing your opinions!
