  1. What drew you to a career in property and casualty insurance?

As I began the career it was exciting to me that there were insurance products that I had never even heard of being sold in multi-billion dollar marketplaces.The depth of the industry and the amount there was to learn was what attracted me to begin my career in property & casualty insurance.

  1. Why would you recommend this career path to current college students?

I would recommend this career to college students because you will get to work in an industry where young professionals are in high demand. There is significant opportunity for upward movement in the industry especially for the go-getters and those who put a strong emphasis on their career.

  1. What can students do now to prepare for a career in the industry?

Keep up with industry news and current events.Reading anything insurance related in a publication like the Wall Street Journal, or keeping up with the latest articles in Insurance Journal or any other insurance focused publication.Over time you will get a feel of the pulse in the industry which will allow you to hold intelligent conversations with professionals in the field at networking events or during interviews.
