The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) is proud to support the launch of Insurance Careers Month, a major multi-phased collaborative effort designed to help raise awareness of insurance as a compelling career choice. The campaign is focused on spreading the message of Insurance as the “Careers Trifecta”: stable, rewarding and limitless.
The Insurance Careers Month initiative, which launches in February 2016 and continues its messaging throughout the year, aligns well with the CAS’s extensive ongoing university engagement efforts. The CAS is dedicated to bringing awareness to university students about the property and casualty insurance career, through initiatives such as the CAS University Liaison Program and CAS Student Central.
Throughout Insurance Careers Month and the rest of the year, the CAS will promote the property and casualty career to millennials through a wide range of activities. Future plans include:
- A property and casualty resource library to help university professors design courses for students interested in joining the insurance industry as actuaries
- A case competition tool-kit to allow universities and employers to introduce students to real-life challenges that are found in the insurance industry
- Other resources that cover topics directly affecting the insurance field such as climate change, driverless cars, and cyber-risk.
Insurance Careers Month is led by Hamilton Insurance Group, Lloyd’s of London, Marsh & McLennan, The Institutes, MyPath, Valen Analytics, The Jacobson Group, InVEST and PCI, Over 320 companies and 400 industry professionals have already signed on to support the initiative, recognizing the importance of attracting the next generation of industry leaders.
